Protect Your Home and Family with Black Russian Terriers

At Guardian Bears Kennel, we breed Black Russian Terriers (BRT) to be loyal and hard-working dogs. If you’re looking for a dog that will be both a social companion and a watchful protector, then a BRT may be the dog for you. While not a breed for just the casual dog owner, a BRT can be perfect as a guard dog for your home or farm. They require interaction from a very early age, and will form a lifelong bond with their owners and family.

When you get a BRT puppy from Guardian Bears, we require that you commit to early training and socialization. The BRT does not respond well to physical correction or harsh discipline. They learn quickly and possesses a high intelligence and ability to retain information. A BRT will effectively guard your home and property, and with the males growing up to 150 pounds, they definitely intimidate trespassers or vandals.

If you’re constantly traveling or don’t plan on spending much one-on-one time with your BRT, we recommend you find another breed to bring into your home. These dogs need extensive socialization early on, and they need to be with their families, participating in daily life. Left to their own devices, they can become overly dominant and over-protective.

If you would like to learn more about Black Russian Terriers, please feel free to contact us at any time. We’ll help you decide if this breed is right for you and if so, how a BRT can become a part of your family. The American Kennel Club classifies the BRT as a “working dog” and while they work tirelessly, they also interact and bond with their family members. We would love for you to meet and experience this beautiful breed.
